It's Mega Cover

It's Mega!

The Travel Bugs laytest single "It's Mega!" was produced by the geocaching community, literally.   A Kickstarter campaign was launched to create a single that captures that wonderful feeling when an event becomes a mega, and thanks to some wonderful backers, the song was funded and became a reality. It weaves a tale of an event that gradually grows as cachers arrive and eventually reaches that coveted number of attendees, 1000.   You can find it in all the normal places you get your music (Apple, Spotify, YouTube etc.)   And you will hear the following geocaching handles in the list of attendees (and some of them as guest vocalists):
TravellingGeek, ThePaperPilot, PuzzlePainter, TW, Cache The Line, FlameCarrier, HartenDame, Spooky Luke, SgtSue, 1More, ScienceNerd, BobBilly, Practical Geocaching, Semmels123, Flint Hills Geocachers, Capt Biggins

Mingo Bound!

NMingo Bound Video Still

The Travel Bugs have released a new song and music video "Mingo Bound!"

In August of 2022, Hans, the drummer for Bugsy Travels and the Ammo Boxes, visited Colorado as part of his trip to the US to perform at the HQ 20th Anniversary Celebration.  He and his wife Inge wanted to visit the Mingo Cache, so we loaded up the car and drove out into the prairie to find GC30, the oldest cache around.   We took some music equipment and performed a little impromptu concert at the cache site, much to the bewilderment of a truck driver who had stopped nearby.  This new video documents that road trip!

20th Anniversary Image

Despite a two-year delay and an entire ocean, The Travel Bugs were able to get together once again for a full band performance.  The band members from Bugsy Travels & the Ammo Boxes joined Steve onstage at the Geocaching 20th anniversary celebration in Seattle for a live performance.  And immeditately afterwards Steve filled in as am Ammo Box for their set.  Were you there?

"The Travel Bugs Invade England

The first ever full band Travel Bugs concert happened at GeoCoinfest 2019 Europe in Manchester, UK.  Were you there?

Steve, the madman behind The Travel Bugs, was accompanied by the Belgian geocaching band Bugsy Travels & the Ammo Boxes onstage at the GeoCoinfest event as well as the after party at the Old Nag's Head pub.   The musicians collborated online via Skype, exchanging MP3 files to practice virtually as a group.   When they joined each other on the stage in Manchester, it was the first time they had ever met in person and within minutes, they were off and running!

Worldwide Cachecon Virtual Concert

A COVID pandemic is no match for geocachers' ingenuity.   The good folks over at GeocacheTalk decided to host a Worldwide virtual conference, and the whole world came!   The event was a huge success and featured many things including HQ virtual tours, expert panels, music videos, and as the closing ceremony ...a live acoustic performance from Steve, the creator behind The Travel Bugs.

What's more, Jan Muylle from Bugsy Travels & the Ammo Boxes joined Steve online for a virtual duet on "The Worst Cacher".   If you missed it, don't worry! You can still watch it!
