Several years ago, the band members in the group were released into the wild as trackables. Each of the seven travel bugs had a mission of getting back to their original continent, and it was going pretty well for a time. At one point, five of the seven had reached their continent. However, the life of a travel bug is frought with danger, neglect, and muggle theft, and eventually all but one of them went missing in action.

But have no fear because the Travel Bugs trackables have been ressurected, albeit in virtual form. They now live hidden deep in the pages of this site just waiting to be found. When you come across a band member just click on them to "discover" the trackable.

I'm happy to collaborate with cachers by providing access to solution keys, FTF swag or other supporting materials. There have been some really interesting finds placed based on the music!

The 5-day long KGB3 Belgian mega has just announced that the Travel Bugs will be joining forces once again with Bugsy Travels & the Ammo Boxes to form a geocaching music supergroup "The Travel Bugsies" for a one-night-only concert at the Nacht Spektakel (Spectacle at Night) event on Friday, Octobert 4, 2024 at 7:30 pm. The show will immediately follow the "The Legend of the Sand Witch" night adventure.

Log your Will Attend and come on out to Lommel, Belgium for some live music, live lab caches, food, drinks and good times.

Mingo Bound!

The Travel Bugs have released a new song and music video "Mingo Bound!"

In August of 2022, Hans, the drummer for Bugsy Travels and the Ammo Boxes, visited Colorado as part of his trip to the US to perform at the HQ 20th Anniversary Celebration. He and his wife Inge wanted to visit the Mingo Cache, so we loaded up the car and drove out into the prairie to find GC30, the oldest cache around. We took some music equipment and performed a little impromptu concert at the cache site, much to the bewilderment of a truck driver who had stopped nearby. This new video documents that road trip!

A NEW TRAVEL BUGS GEOCOIN!

To commemorate the fact that the geocaching music group The Travel Bugs is hitting the road, a new trackable geocoin has been created. Thanks a million to all of the cachers who backed the Kickstarter campaign and made the coin a reality. Some of them are already out there to be discovered. In fact, one is on display at Geocaching HQ! They are high-quality metal 2.25" long coins with a concert ticket design in 4 colors with a nickel finish. Add one to your personal collection.

The Travel Bugs Perform at the Geocaching 20th Anniversary Celebration

Despite a two-year delay and an entire ocean, The Travel Bugs were able to get together once again for a full band performance. The band members from Bugsy Travels & the Ammo Boxes joined Steve onstage at the Geocaching 20th anniversary celebration in Seattle for a live performance. And immeditately afterwards Steve filled in as an Ammo Box for their set. Were you there?
